WHAT: Valentino Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2018. To the amazing sounds of Maria Callas' "Tosca", Pierpaolo Piccioli's Valentino Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2018 show brought attending guests to a standing ovation--including Donatella Versace and THE Valentino Garavani.



INSPIRATION: The opera; 16th-century Italian master Pontormo; Belle Epoque designer Lady Duff-Gordon, and 1950's-1980's magazine photos of haute couture.

SEEN ON THE RUNWAY: Theatrical ensembles, UBER large feathered Philip Treacy hats, billowing ruffled opera coats, gowns, large bows; gold, blue, plum, vermillion, cerulean blue and pink; hand-sewn silk organza appliques; sequined flowers.
